I am one of 40 teachers, that will use the new literacy book in the local Rral language. It is a huge benefit that the kids can start to read in their own language. So far, we had only access to materials in English. I had to explain everything because they could not understand it. Gaining reading skills in Rral will help them later reading in English and allow them to learn what they need for their future. I can also read to them Bible stories in their own language and they are happy that they understand everything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Je m&#8217;appelle Jenita<\/strong> et je vis \u00e0 North Ambrym, Vanuatu. Je suis une des 40 enseignantes qui utiliseront le nouveau livre d&#8217;alphab\u00e9tisation dans la langue locale, le Rral. C&#8217;est un \u00e9norme avantage que les enfants puissent maintenant apprendre \u00e0 lire dans leur propre langue. Jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, nous n&#8217;avions acc\u00e8s qu&#8217;\u00e0 du mat\u00e9riel en anglais. J&#8217;ai d\u00fb tout leur expliquer en Rral parce que les enfants ne comprenaient rien. L&#8217;acquisition de comp\u00e9tences en lecture en Rral les aidera plus tard \u00e0 lire en anglais et \u00e0 apprendre ce dont ils ont besoin pour leur avenir.
